D ~ Week 26 ~ Grilled Fish

Bbq - summer, fun, cooler house. Um... yes!

Earlier this summer - not really sure when exactly - I barbecued up some fish fillets.

What you need:
fish fillets (I used the perch we caught earlier in the summer that I thawed out)
seasonings (I used garlic, season salt, & pepper)
lemon juice (if you want)
barbecue
briquets, newspaper, matches
time
plate
spatula or turner

We're poor and traditional. We don't have one of those fancy gas grills. We have a classic Webber bbq ! Love it!

So..... here's what I did. I started the briquets in the coolest starter thing ever. See? That's pretty awesome, right? I choose to believe you agree with me!

I started the bricks probably about a half hour before this picture... and they're ready! So I rushed inside & got the fish ready. In my haste I forgot to take pictures! My bad!

I took the fish out of the freezer & put them on this cool vegetable metal mesh thing we use and  sprinkled spices over them - garlic, onion powder, pepper, season salt (or whatever sounded good... ya know, cinnamon & sugar - no kidding not that). Then I poured some lemon juice over them. Raced outside, carefully dumped the hot bricks out & put the grill on top, then put the fish on the grill.

In about 5 minutes I went back out and flipped them and let them cook for another 5 minutes or so.  They looked like this when they were done... and boy were they tasty with some tartar sauce I made. Mmmmmm
